ABOUT ME

Hi, my name is Charlotte Bailey, and I’m the founder of Core Life by Charlotte!

I’m a level 3 Mat Pilates instructor, personal trainer and full time mum, specialising in prenatal fitness, postnatal recovery and pelvic floor strengthening. With over 20 years experience in the industry, I have an extensive and diverse background in fitness.

My journey in the fitness world began at the age of 16, with my first job at a leisure centre in Harrogate where I was responsible for setting up classes in a gym. This early experience ignited my passion for wellbeing and fitness, leading me to pursue a degree in Sports Management at Sheffield Hallam University. During my time at Sheffield Hallam, I developed a keen interest in coaching and began to delve deeper into that world.

After completing my degree, I qualified as a Level 2 fitness instructor and worked at a local gym teaching classes and giving gym inductions. Eager to expand my horizons, in 2009 I travelled to Augusta, Georgia, to qualify as a Personal Trainer and work at the YMCA.

During my time in the US, I taught classes for teenagers, led spinning sessions, and even coached a local high school volleyball team.

Following a brief return to the UK in 2012, working at LA Fitness as a Personal trainer, and eventually being promoted to Fitness Manager, I decided to start a new life and moved to Gibraltar. For many years I worked with The Infinity Group of gyms here in Gibraltar, including the high-end Atlantic Suites, Ocean Village and Sunborn health clubs, from teaching classes and personal training to marketing and event planning. During this time I really fell in love with Gibraltar and the people here, and it gave me an opportunity to forge many incredible relationships with clients, colleagues and friends.

In 2017, I went to London and spent a year working at the prestigious Third Space Health Club in Canary Wharf, Europe’s largest luxury health club. This was a great opportunity and I really enjoyed it there, but I couldn’t shake the feeling that something was missing.

Gibraltar was calling to me, so I came back.

Maybe it was the people, maybe it was the beautiful sunsets (that definitely inspired my famous evening sunset Pilates classes!), but I knew I was meant to be here and I knew what I was here to do. In 2019, I was blessed with my first child, Xander, and after 2 years of my new life as a mother I gave birth to my second child, Maxi. My struggles as a new mum were what led me to specialise in Pre and Post natal fitness, becoming certified for both, and more recently becoming certified as a level 3 Mat Pilates instructor.

As a mother, I now know that helping other mums, both during pregnancy and after, is what I am most passionate about. I believe that creating a supportive community where we can share our experiences is incredibly important, empowering us all and making the journey of motherhood much more rewarding.

Which is why I started Core Life!

"Motherhood is a team sport. Loving, supporting, and lifting each other up is the game."

So, let’s start this wellbeing journey together, are you ready?
